Good Nutrition For Maximum Performance Everyday

Recently there has been more and more discussion on the importance of eating well and getting the right food in your system. The U.S. government has realized that it is an issue that can no longer be ignored.

The fact that nearly 50% of our children are listed as overweight and some seen as obese the government has taken some action.  Instead of trying to look for the “quick fix” with training and eating well every once in awhile, we need to start realizing that this should be a daily part of our lives. We wouldn’t necessarily need so much help and spending in our health care system if we tried to take of ourselves right now. A teenager once said to me: “Since you are going to be out of shape and fat when you get older anyway, what’s the point of working out now?” I still remember that quote from nearly 20 years ago. It’s scary that kids are thinking this way. I have been to a few nutrition seminars and have taken advice on what my College and National Team Coaches have told me about the importance of getting the right nutrition in your body. In summary they all say the same thing, if you are training hard you need more fruits, vegetables, and berries in your system.  All good nutritionists today recommend that we eat 9 -13 servings of fruits and vegetables every day and even more if we are training hard every day). The Los Angeles Kings Ice Hockey Strength Performance and Conditioning Coach states that Nutrition accounts for 80- 90% of your total performance and body composition. Another Master Trainer that has trained me in the past stated that Nutrition is 100% of your total body composition. This means that if you are determined to get lean and toned and lose weight working out is not enough! You must change your diet and consume more fruits, veggies, and berries. I have been taking Juice Plus+ for three years and will continue taking it for the rest of my life because I have witnessed a positive difference throughout my daily life activities. One huge impact is that I can teach an average of 15 classes a week without being fatigued like I use to be before when I was not taking Juice Plus+ and not getting enough fruits and veggies in my diet.\

There is one article that stands out here at the Roworx Indoor Fitness Center that I have read over and over again throughout the past few years. The following article is from Jack Medina, M.A.  Former U.S. Gymnastics Coach & Conditioning Trainer for NFL Teams.

What Athletes And Coaches Need To Know About Juice Plus+

“The cells in your body, especially muscle cells (which athletes are most concerned with), will not preform up to maximum capacity unless 1) a maximum amount of oxygen can be delivered to the cell through the blood system, and if the cell itself is healthy enough to absorb enough oxygen. If any muscle cells are in a weakened condition because they don’t get enough required nutrients, and therefore cannot grow to their full capacity, it is impossible for them to preform at their maximum potential when the athlete needs them, simply because they cannot absorb enough oxygen. We have found a way for people and athletes alike to increase his or her nutritional intensity at a cellular level; not only to prevent disease, but to allow the muscle cell to preform at its optimal level. The key ingredients for cellular growth and performance come from fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes and nuts/seeds. Bottom line is we all need more of these high oxygen foods in our system in order to preform at our best everyday! My experience during 35 years of coaching and working with athletes at all levels shows that most of them can’t get enough of these foods. A company called NSA (National Safety Associates) in Memphis, Tennessee grows 17 of the most nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables available today. They prick them at peak ripeness, immediately juice them and reduce to powder using proprietary process designed to ensure maximum retention of nutrients. Without having to take a vitamin/mineral supplement (which research says does not work because they are isolated out of the food complex) the athlete gets many vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants known and unknown to man in17 of the most nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables going through their bodies at the same time. In my opinion this is the answer to peak cellular performance. Juice Plus+ is proven effective by peer-reviewed published research studies done throughout the world. In addition, Juice Plus+ Complete, in my opinion, is the most perfectly balanced nutritional shake available today. It is available to the average person and athlete specifically used for enhancing their current nutrition in terms of extra meals needed; but also as a pre-workout or post workout meal because it passes through the stomach rapidly giving energy prior to a workout and aides to recovery immediately after a workout. If the coach and/or athlete are interested in peak performance it must start at the cellular level through good nutrition- there is no other way! Successful training can only occur if the cells are strong enough to withstand the stress being put on them. Juice Plus+ could very well be the answer you are looking for.”
